INTERCESSORY PRAYER MINISTRY: All are welcome! Sunday prayer times: 8:30 am (Prayer Room), 10:20 am (Sanctuary), and 5:00 pm (Prayer Room) "Standing in the Gap" prayer partners: during the morning worship service
Prayer is not a ministry we do, but who we are! As a part of the prayer initiative at Calvary, we ask you, God’s people to pray these targeted prayers. We have identified 10 key areas for prayer that impact the overall health and effectiveness of the church. We’re asking God to bring 100 people, or more, who are willing to pray 10 minutes each week, for these 10 prayer requests. That’s it. A 10-minute weekly investment! Ready to join us in prayer? 100 STRONG: Praying Together for Calvary Heavenly Father, please allow Calvary Baptist Church 1. VISION: That our church will become a House of Prayer, which will lead to Evangelism (2500 Gospel Conversations), which will lead people to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. 2. FAITH/PRAYER: Ask God for a filling of the Holy Spirit for each task of service as we seek His will. 3. LOVE: Ask God to help us to love one another as He has loved us. 4. DISCIPLESHIP: Ask God that we will consistently produce the fruits of the Spirit. 5. KINGDOM: Ask God that He will reveal what He is doing and allow us to be a part of that work. 6. SCRIPTURE: Ask God to keep us in the word, so we will know the Truth of His word. 7. WORSHIP: Ask God to show us how to worship so our worship will be about God and not about we the people. 8. LEADERSHIP: Ask God to help us support, pray for and encourage the leaders of our church, (Pastor, Staff, Ministry Leaders, Deacons, Teachers) as they carry out the vision the Lord has revealed to them collectively. 9. FELLOWSHIP: Ask God that we will not forsake meeting together but use fellowship to encourage one another in our desire to be Christlike. 10. BLESSING: Ask God to allow us to experience the miracle of bringing our church into His presence.
Meet Our Intercessory Prayer Ministry Coordinator, Mr. Lavon Driskell God led me and blessed me with the privilege of being a teacher and coach, resulting in a career in education for 47 years. I taught and coached at multiple levels and various sports, including football, boys and girls basketball and baseball. I also served as an administrator at the high school level. I coached women's basketball at the collegiate level and also served as Athletic Director. My place of service in church life has been to coordinate prayer ministries, teach Sunday school classes and serve as a deacon. Now retired from the teaching and coaching profession, my wife Chris and I were led to Calvary Baptist Church and feel so blessed to lead the Intercessory Prayer Ministry. Throughout our marriage, God has revealed to us that prayer is so vital to a Christian's spiritual growth and how important it is to always PRAY FIRST. It is our prayer that you will choose to learn more about the prayer ministry at Calvary Baptist Church, join our ministry and/or let us know how our prayer team can pray for you.
