Meet Our Lead Pastor, Dr. Andy Goode Dr. Andy Goode brings over 26 years of ministry experience to Calvary Baptist, having served churches in Georgia, Arkansas, and Alabama before joining us. He and his wife, Patty, are both natives of Southwest Georgia and have four children: Azlee Goode-Evans (Isaac), Avery Goode-Williams (Austin), Adler (Rebecca), and Anson. Before entering full-time ministry in 2000, Dr. Goode was a law student at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law when he surrendered to God's calling. He holds a B.S. in Political Science from Georgia Southwestern State University and attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary’s Southwest Georgia Campus while serving at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia—known for films like Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous. With a heart for missions and evangelism, Dr. Goode has served as both a senior pastor and a missions and evangelism pastor. He previously led local missions and served as a campus pastor at Cross Church in Northwest Arkansas. Passionate about personal evangelism, he trained under Dr. D. James Kennedy in Evangelism Explosion and is dedicated to equipping believers to share their faith as a way of life. In addition to his pastoral leadership, Dr. Goode is a seminary-trained, nationally certified Biblical Counselor with clinical practicum experience. As part of Calvary’s ministry, he offers marriage and family counseling at no charge. Committed to expositional preaching and biblical discipleship, he strives to help every believer grow in spiritual maturity. Missions have been a lifelong calling for the Goode family, who have been actively involved in church planting and leadership development in the Caribbean. Their daughters began serving on mission teams at an early age, and missions remain central to their family’s ministry. Beyond his pastoral work, Dr. Goode enjoys saltwater and bass fishing, traveling with Patty, and spending time at the beach. His bucket list includes visiting every island in the Greater and Lesser Antilles—before Jesus returns!
